bio
andrew was born on a friday night to a disaster. his mother's pregnancy with him was hard on her and she suffered through most of it. she hadn't had any children prior so she was excited to have her firstborn meaning she wouldn't have even considered getting rid of him to spare herself the unbearably hard pregnancy. despite the troubles, his parents were thrilled on the night he came into the world and for the first hour, everything was perfect. his mother held him, his father cooed over him, but luck was not on their side. his mother began to hemorrhage and there wasn't a lot they could do for her. she ended up passing away when andrew was three hours old and at almost four months old, his father took his own life, the loss of his wife too much for him to push through.

andrew's aunt, meili, lived in san francisco, with her husband david whitman and upon learning about her nephew's unfortunate situation, she took it upon herself to take the child and raise it as her own. the loss of her brother was shocking and devastating but she couldn't imagine anyone else raising her brother's child. andrew had no idea about his beginnings until he was nearly 14 years old. there had been no need to burden a child that was too young to know any better. all he knew was meili and david, they were his parents, and their two children were his brother and sister, and that's what he knew. that was his life.

when he did find out about his parents, however, he did feel sad and he did feel a momentary sense of disconnect from the family that raised him. thankfully, his family, while they weren't his blood parents or blood siblings, they were his family and they were there for him and he got over the shock and moved on with his life. like he knew his biological parents would've wanted. finding this out had had another effect on him. andrew became interested in genealogy and family trees and things like that. not a profession that would make him rich but he felt something strongly about it.

andrew moved from san fran when he was 19 and he ventured to a new city, which happened to be portland, and that is where our story continues.

random facts
🎋 before he found out about his parents and got into studying genealogy, andrew had wanted to be a doctor or at least work in the medical field in some capacity like his dad.

🎋 andrew's love life has never been something that he focused on but he did date a girl throughout his sophmore year of high school. she was sweet and helped him through all the things he'd learned about his biological parents. he'll always be grateful to her for aiding him.

🎋 when he was 18, andrew changed his last name (back) to sun. he was andrew whitman throughout his entire childhood, because his aunt and uncle adopted him and raised him like their own, but once he knew about his biological parents, he felt this need to honor them and therefore, he changed his last name to match.

🎋 stereotypically, his parents enrolled him and his siblings in karate when they were young and andrew was rather proficient in the art. he has grace and mobility on his side and still practices in times of great strife because it helps him decompress and focus.
